Gentry

As I write this, three tweedy blazers, a navy Super 160s suit, and my Barbour jacket liner are hanging on my coat rack... A chunky, cashmere cable-knit sweater and my Barbour coat are slung over a chair to my left... An orange Marinella tie (shipped from Bergdorf today) is on my coffee table... Two pairs of suede Belgian shoes and some Alden cordovan tassel loafers are on the floor.

You get the idea. I like clothes... And I need to clean my living room.

I don't know why I have this interest. And I won't bore you with how I cultivated it (though it all started with a blue, Abercrombie & Fitch button-up shirt I stole from my Dad's closet in high school).

But I know more about style than most guys. It's a passion. And I'm talking traditional, timeless style... Not the bullshit "style" you normally see on the streets, and men's magazines, and TV, and most everywhere nowadays.

So, in addition to drinking, this blog will also be about style. And I like to eat at great restaurants and travel the world, so I'll write about that, too.

Oh... and the bourbon I teased in the last post is Pappy Van Winkle 23. It's really good, if you can find it. You can read an interesting story about the history and current operations of the company here.
